About

Lara Kipphut-Ngo

Lara Kipphut is a graduate of Drexel University with a Master of Science in Interior Architecture & Design as well as the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting. Her career began in Philadelphia working with CDA&I, a commercial architecture firm focused on GSA and Educational projects. Upon arrival in Chicago in 2008, she established a relationship with Designs for Dignity, a local pro-bono design organization providing services for marginalized populations.

As the years progressed, she began consulting for three local designers providing them with services that ranged from bookkeeping to construction documentation to project development and facilitation on local and national projects in both residential and hospitality design.

This progression led to the establishment of Studio Lark, a small but comprehensive design studio that is set up to fill the myriad needs of other small companies and personal clients alike.

Her insight and understanding of both the design/build process and the final more artistic stages are what make her unique. Her work is both thoughtful and thought provoking and  she has established a fresh aesthetic, focusing on the juxtaposition of clean lines, interesting textures and fine details.  However, she believes that great design can be made manifest in any “style” if executed well.  At the core of her method is the development of a deep understanding of the needs and wants of each individual client. Through carefully considered communication and interpretation she is able to facilitate the creation of cohesive environments that are a reflection of the client.

Studio Lark looks forward to working with you and making your project come to life!
